Our Heritage

Driven by ambition, Ralph Carver decided in 1967 that since his Super C Mart grocery stores were finding success, he needed to diversify his investments and pursue a hobby. His two sons were interested in FFA, so Ralph saw no better idea than to purchase some land in town that had some fences ready-to-go.

He was growing a small cattle herd for many years until he found his new passion in 1975; American Quarter Horses. Ralph’s most prized racehorse was a stud named Pocket Profit, a multiple graded stakes winner bred from his own mare at Carver Farms, Pocket Profits’ earnings helped grow Carver Farms to what it is today.

When Ralph passed in 1995, his three children, Rick, Rod and Kay took over control of Carver Farms. Rod saw bright horizons with the french beef breed, Limousin. Over the years, Rod had built the largest registered herd of polled Fullblood Red Limousin in  the United States. He supplied top quality semen straws far and wide, sharing his superior genetics across North America.

2020 saw one of the most trying times in Carver Farms' history, and was one of wildest years of Kay’s life when her family’s cattle empire fell solely in her lap as the result of Rod passing at the hands of cancer. As Kay was reminiscing the old days of Carver Farms, she thought back to her dad’s first endeavor; feeding the community.     She seeks to turn Carver Farms into something greater by selling fresh locally grown beef to our community, and reigniting her father's passion of uniting people through food.

Today, the Carver Farms team consists of Kay, her son Kyle, his fiancé Kassidy, and our beloved Ranch Manager, Nathan Newcomb, whose work at Carver Farms for over the past decade has been an integral element to the farms’ success. Every day, we make it our goal to educate, to learn, and to provide high quality, pasture raised locally grown beef to everyone in Central and South Oklahoma.
